Zaw Min Aung, the chairman of the World Engineering Education Federation and the Engineering Education Committee, said: The “New Engineering Disciplines” (or “Emerging Engineering Education”) initiative and Tianjin University's role in it was a major topic at the 2025 conference. This initiative often referred to by its trilogy of documents, the “Fudan Consensus” ,”Tianjin Actions” and “Beijing Guidelines”, is a comprehensive reform of engineering education in China. Tianjin university is seen as a key leader in the movement. So Tianjin university is a global leader in the field of Emerging Engineering Education(EEE), positioning itself at the forefront of the movement. Its exploration and practice stand out due to its comprehensive top-down approach that integrates national strategic needs with micro-level curricular reform. Tianjin University’s Emerging Engineering Education practices are highly regarded. Tianjin university’s reform stands out because it's not a piecemeal effort. It's a holistic re-engineering of the entire educational system from curriculum and pedagogy to industry collaboration. I would say to student: Embrace the unique opportunity, you have to be at the forefront of the global education shift, your program is designed to equip. you not just with the technical knowledge, but with the innovative and interdisciplinary skills the world desperately needs.
